If you haven’t seen this light and good-hearted movie staring Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy, Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith (with a very young Phillip Seymour Hoffman thrown in as well) you absolutely should.  If for anything, just to see this whole scene play out with one of the most dysfunctional families ever.

Little Miss Sunshine

All I gotta ask is; “What’s with the God damn fucking chicken!?”  Alan Arkin, you rock.  Its starts with him and ends with hilarity.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

In what could possibly be the funniest family dinner scene ever, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly just go to town and spew out some hilarious and ridiculous things.  Discussing which Jesus version is better, Ricky’s smokin hot wife, the denigration of Grandpa Chip and features one of the “best” menus ever put together.

Beetlejuice

Chairs coming alive, spirits being summoned, Gothic theme and the guest of honor is there to communicate with the dead.  Then they dance to Day-O.  This is one of the few dinners I would actually have wanted to be a part of.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

This may have not been a traditional family dinner but it has all the things needed to make for an awkward meal.  Plus it features bug eating and monkey brains for dessert.  Who hasn’t been to a meal where you would rather have been eating those instead of what’s being served.

Meet the Parents

This classic scene from the original Ben Stiller/Robert De Niro comedy is what kicked of the rest of the trilogy being made pretty much.  Who can’t relate to the first holiday dinner with their in-laws?  Watch the awkwardness unfold before your eyes.

The Nutty Professor

Say what you will about his movies now (that aren’t animated), but Eddie Murphy was at the top of his game when the first Nutty Professor came out.  This family dinner scene is pretty much Eddie in different costumes, insulting the others.  Why he went from this to Pluto Nash, we will never know.

Scent of a Woman

Words can not describe how great Al Pacino was in this movie. His blind and severely grumpy character is fantastic through out but you can actually feel the tension build when he enters his brother’s house after years of being apart.  Feel the hostility grow and eventually blow over when a name is mispronounced. 

Hannibal

Ray Liotta definitly blew his top at this meal (see what I did there?).  Absolutely not a family meal but does feature someone being called a slut and then someone eating their own brains and being truly delighted by it. 

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Now I know that in some families, a dinner can be like sitting with a bunch of redneck cannibals who just want to torture with crazy questions.  Well in this movie, that actually happens.  So just remember it could be much worse.

Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals

If you think you know about the Magic/Bird rivalry, you don’t know squat.  Check out this fantastic documentary about how the rivals became best friends and its all because of a McDonald’s commercial. Can’t recommend this movie enough.

Semi-Pro

Like any Will Ferrell movie, this one needs repeated viewings to get the comedic genius that is Mr. Ferrell.  Like Jim Carrey movies, you have to get past the silliness to enjoy how funny it is.  Totally worth it.

He Got Game

A gritty, Spike Lee movie that looks at an inner-city family that has produced the best high school basketball player in the nation.  Ray Allen plays Jesus Shuttlesworth and an afro sporting Denzel Washington plays his father. Boobs, drugs, shady agents, shady college officials; may as well be report on Sports Center.

Blue Chips

A realistic look at college recruiting and how illegal things can get.  Nick Nolte plays the coach while Shaq and Penny Hardaway provide the basketball stars.  A decent flic that’s worth a look just to see a not-so-crazy Nolte and an in-shape Shaq.  Two things that haven’t been seen in more than 10 years.

White Men Can’t Jump

This classic comedy with Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes and Rosie Perez (who actually looks good put that voice!) spawned the phrase that is repeated on basketball courts every day.  Probably because it’s mainly true.

Hoosiers

A classic movie with Dustin Hoffman as a cranky coach who teaches a small town basketball team (and town) that basketball isn’t just about making baskets.  A feel good movie you could share with the kids (if they’ll sit through it).

Above the Rim

Street ball that doesn’t involve obnoxious nicknames and silly announcers on the court.  See Tupac Shakur in a fantastic role (that probably wasn’t too much of a stretch for him) in this great movie.

So which did I leave out that should be on the list?

The play resulted after a pop out in which the 3rd baseman and the catcher made a play on the ball. The pitcher is supposed to cover the plate in such a circumstance, but really, who is going to tag-up from 3rd when the ball is in front of them? There was nobody covering home. Hamilton was 90 feet away, on the bag, and the catcher and 3rd baseman were about 60-65 feet away near the 3rd base dugout.

According to Josh Hamilton, Coach Anderson stated that there was nobody at home–nobody covering the plate–and sent Hamilton. In a post-game interview, Hamilton stated that his gut instinct was to stay at 3rd–that something was going to happen if he tried to score. It was a mess of a play, with Hamilton going into a Superman-style dive, trying to avoid the tag. The result of the ground contact is going to keep the Rangers center fielder on the DL for 6-8 weeks with a fractured humerus.

The sports pundits are trying assess blame in the accident, and I’ll give a nod of “wrong” to both Anderson and Hamilton. Anderson for sending him in the first place–which was stupid–and Hamilton for not trusting his instincts.

KidRock & Creed’s Scott Stapp  – Oh no not together.. but ALMOST!  If you ever wanted to watch two hillbilly “rockstars” partying it up together and receiving oral sex from a handful of groupies in the same room then this is the video for you. Why anyone would want to see Kid Rock in anything less than a wife beater is beyond me.

Tom Sizemore – Oh Sizemore, even though you have a porn star name you gotta know that when you create a sex tape that’s targeted toward the middle aged women demographic you’re in trouble. The porn world is basically telling you that no one wants to see your 8 hour sex tape from hell. The sex tape started out with rumors that Liz Hurley was in it, but ended up only containing a plethora of porn stars and hookers AND Tim Sizemore.  Yawn.

Tonya Harding – How can I put this lightly, the Tonya Harding wedding night sex tape isn’t exactly something you want to save for the weekend.. or even a weeknight, or even a Wednesday through Thursday. No, no, the Tonya Harding Wedding Night Sex tape should be saved for a Tuesday morning around 11:52 before lunc—scratch that, after lunch 2:35pm perhaps.

 First of all, The wedding dress thing is just brutal. While it should make her seem “feminine” it makes you actually realize how mannish she actually is. Secondly, if you want to watched a sloppy drunk girl with a body shaped like a senior citizen – volunteer at your local cougar bar. Gawd, I can almost hear The Deliverance banjo in the background…

One Night in Chyna – When I first heard that Chyna (Joanie Laurer) had a sex tape I had to ask the fundamental question – Was it a girl? No, no, surprisingly it was with ex wrestler X-PAC which now when I think about it makes more sense. HAVE YOU SEEN CHYNA PEOPLE?!!? She’s a Gorilla! No girl other than a Chyna doppelganger could ever have sex with Chyna. And this world isn’t big enough for two Chynas. Except for maybe X-Pac from WWE. If I wanted to watch 2 rhinos going at it I’ll watch the Discovery Channel.

Screech’s Sex Tape- The most annoying guy in the world makes the most repulsive and annoying sex tape in the world. No one believes that a girl would actually want Screech from Saved by the Bell let alone TWO without being paid heavily so it makes this sex tape basically a crock of shite (pardon the pun). From the sounds of it, Screech doesn’t believe it either since he spends the whole time not enjoying himself but talking nonstop about all the haters of the world. Dude, get your money’s worth while you can – SBTB isn’t going to be syndicated forever.

***Honorable Mention: Danielle Staub and the Onion Bagel – Let’s be honest – The Real Housewife series isn’t created so we can hem and haw about how hot the housewives are – we laugh and make jokes about how desperate they are and if this video didn’t have sex in it particularly WITH Danielle Staub then I would probably join in and laugh and laugh. If you have more of a stomach for this sort of thing then feel free to watch the housewife eat toothpaste out of the tube, take a trip to the bidet, and talk about the onion bagel she just ate. Lovely.

Don Draper has become, ironically, a hipster sex icon. Though he embodies the ideals that they find detestable – capitalism, self-centeredness, and regularly washing – nobody can resist that masculine chin and insane comic timing. Mad Men is a comedy, right? Sorry. I’m thinking of Stella. The series has won numerous awards, is consistently one of the best things on television, and basically sweeps the hearts of critics with their polysyllabic reviews bleating about the inadequacies of other scripted television when faced with the juggernaut that is Mad Men.

But negotiations with the network may bring the beloved series down. According to sources, Weiner is asking for a two-year, 30 million dollar contract. If you need some room for comparison, Ryan Murphy, the man who created Glee, has a four-year, 24 million dollar contract. More comparison? Glee crushes everything else in the ratings. It gives you some perspective.

To cope with the rising costs, the network has asked that Weiner cut two minutes off each episode, incorporate more product placement, and get rid of two actors. He, predictably, has balked.

If Mad Men goes off the air, because some genius couldn’t figure out how to incorporate products into a SHOW ABOUT ADVERTISING, I will punch someone.

But don’t fret – you’re not the only one with problems. Like all other problems we face, celebrities seem to get hit MUCH worse! Mo’ Money mo’ Problems right?

My Name is Earl star and only female on our list Jamie Pressly has had her run-ins with authorities lately. Remember her DUI this year? Well she was now recently slapped with a bill for unpaid taxes. In this month’s Star Pressly claims it’s her lack of work since Earl was cancelled along with the stress of being a single mom that has attributed to her problems. Hmm.. Who tops our list? None other than the ever so famous Aussie Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan! He owes a reported $150 million which leads to me ask – How the F#$K did he do that? Well originally his unpaid taxes accounted for $36.7 million but the interests and fees have chalked that up to a whopping $150 million! Paul Hogan showed up at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) back in August 2010 when he was visiting the country to attend his mother’s funeral. The ATO then issued an order that Hogan was not allowed to leave the country until his debts were paid. Although he did eventually leave, how the star will pay up and when is still a mystery!

While Daft Punk will not be returning to the California music festival this year, the Coachella bill is admittedly pretty stacked.  Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Kanye West and the Strokes are headlining the event, while Duran Duran, The Chemical Brothers, Lauren Hill, Cee Lo Green, Robyn, and the Kills are among the acts playing.

Not only that, but Death From Above 1979 have reunited and will take to the stage for the festival.  Yes, really!

For those of you who don’t recognize the name, Mia appeared as the leading lady in this year’s hit movie Alice in Wonderland. Sure, she was by no means the star of the film (that role belonged to Johnny Depp), she did appear in almost scene of the movie. Alice in Wonderland was the second-highest earning movie of 2010 (Toy Story 3 was the top earning movie) with $1.03 billion in box office sales.

Instead, the tape reportedly contains footage of Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon getting down with her boyfriend, Sam Jones.  The Playmate alleges that Spencer stole the video from her home.

In a letter Karissa’s lawyer fired off to Spencer, Team Karissa claims that the Hills star has footage that was “taken from [Karissa]” and “contains private materials.”  She’s demanding the video footage be returned immediately, or she’ll sue.

This isn’t the first time that Spencer has been thought to have sex tapes involving the blonde playmate. When Spencer first began shopping his rumored sex tape footage to Vivid Entertainment founder Steve Hirsch, he claimed that some of the videos featured Heidi and Karissa in some girl on girl action.

Your knees buckled the second you laid eyes on her. It was love and lust at first sight, and you’re confused as hell because those two things aren’t supposed to go together. “Don’t get too excited,” you tell yourself as you breathe deeply in a vain attempt to normalize your heart rate. “She couldn’t possibly be single.”

And you’re right. She’s not. But her boyfriend is not the Nordic god you’d imagined. In fact, he’s kind of wimpy. Or dorky. Or fat. Or bald. Or ugly. Or all of the above. That such a beautiful woman should end up with such a lesser man is a sin against nature…a sin you’re going to correct, dammit.

But how? By deviously and ruthlessly breaking them up, that’s how. And here’s how to do it:

1. Be friends first. You’re going to put her on the defensive if you come on too strong. Instead, just be friends with her. Really. Just friends. Nothing more. Don’t flirt with her, don’t make suggestive remarks and, above all, don’t lay a finger on her. That comes later. 
2. Listen to her problems. Why is it so crucial to be “friends first?” Because you’ll gain her trust, and once you’ve proven yourself to be the kind of honorable man who wouldn’t dare try to steal another man’s girl, she’ll open up to you. All relationships have problems. Eventually, you’ll hear about them.
3. Position yourself as the solution. Show, don’t tell. Words mean nothing; you’ll get a lot more mileage out of a subtle demonstration of your superiority than you will by blurting out your intentions. If, for example, she complains that her boyfriend is too frugal, pick up the lunch check (and play it off like it’s no big deal, even if it means you’ll have to get a payday loan to cover your groceries). If she feels taken for granted, slip in a benign, non-suggestive compliment on her nail polish or eyelashes or earrings or anything else that shows you’re paying attention to the finer details.
4. Indicate your interest. If you’ve played your cards right to this point, she should be starting to see the light. She thinks you’re smart, funny and a gentleman. Now’s the time to start mining for the moment when the sparks start to fly. Let your eye contact linger. Give her a gentle touch on the arm as you open the door for her. Add a goodbye hug to the mix if you hang out with her one-on-one.
5. Get her drunk. Ah, alcohol: tonic for our anxieties, loosener of our inhibitions. You eventually have to make a move if you want to get with her, and you’ll be less nervous about it if you’ve had a couple drinks. As a side bonus, she’ll probably be more receptive. Just make sure you’re pleasantly buzzed, not falling-down drunk. And hey, if she shoots you down, you can always order that double bourbon on the rocks to put yourself over the edge and delay the awful feeling of rejection until the next morning.

Your blood pressure’s already high enough from all the beer, red meat and salt in your diet. You don’t need to make it any worse by watching a crappy movie made by someone you thought was good. So do your heart a favor and avoid anything directed by these five has-beens:

#5: Francis Ford Coppola. A staggering run in the 1970s that included The Conversation, Apocalypse Now and the first two installments of The Godfather earned him a reputation for excellence that was, back then, well-deserved. But, by the 1980s, he’d begun wasting his talents on forgettable films like Peggy Sue Got Married and Tucker: A Man and His Dream. In 1996, Jack pretty much did him in as a director. He’s thankfully been pretty quiet since.

#4: Bryan Singer. The Usual Suspects was sweet. Then they drove a dump truck full of money up to Singer’s house so he’d direct the X-Men franchise. Sure enough, laughable yawners like Superman Returns soon followed. Okay, he gets a mulligan for Valkyrie, but does anyone expect Excalibur or X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 will turn out to be anything but more turds on Hollywood’s cultural dung heap?

#3: David Fincher. Se7en is a nail-biting thriller. Fight Club was one of the best movies of the 1990s, but then Fincher hit the panic switch with Panic Room and it went downhill from there. Abutting the passable Zodiac were Paula Abdul and George Michael music videos (yee-ha) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, one of the most overrated films ever made. Now he’s made a movie about Facebook. Gee, how does that end? Does Mark Zuckerberg get rich?

#2: Tim Burton. This guy certainly had his moments with flicks like 1989’s Batman and the offbeat hits Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. But soon, Mark Wahlberg was falling in love with female apes. Next thing you know, Johnny Depp is in a musical–an experiment that worked only thanks to the millions of teenage girls who’d pay to watch 90 minutes of Johnny Depp reciting T.S. Eliot’s “The Waste Land.” Now Burton’s working on Frankenweenie. That has “must-see” written all over it.

#1: M. Night Shyamalan. The debacle called The Last Airbender might make him too easy a target, but this egomaniac deserves it. The Sixth Sense was brilliant, but every single thing he’s crapped out since has gotten progressively worse, even after 2006’s Lady in the Water made that seem impossible. Please stop paying to see this guy’s movies. It’s the only way they’ll stop letting him make them.

Elin Nordegren’s world came crashing in last November when she (and the entire world) learned that her husband Tiger Woods was a serial cheater. Regardless, Elin may find some comfort in knowing that she was, by far, hotter than each and every one of Tigers 19 mistresses. For the sake of argument, we chose to include a photo of Tiger’s #1 mistress Rachel Uchitel to prove our point.

2. Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville is the former wife of Eddie Cibrian who is now engaged in a serious relationship with country singer Leann Rimes. It was widely reported that Eddie and Leann were having an affair while they worked on their d-list movie Northern Lights. At the end of the day, Eddie did Brandi a favor. After all, she’s sexier than Rimes and she deserves a better man than Eddie Cibrian.

Vanessa Bryant is the wife of basketball player Kobe Bryant. Vanessa stood by her man during one of the biggest scandals in sports history (before Tiger Woods, that is) when her husband was not only accused of having an affair but was also accused of sexual assault against 19-year-old Katelyn Faber. Kobe eventually admitted to cheating on Vanessa but adamantly denied the sexual assualt. Vanessa and Kobe are currently still married and trying hard to put the memories of his mistress behind them. We would be too if our mistress looked like her.

Uma Thurman is the gorgeous blonde hair, blue eyed, 6ft model who most men would kill to date. Unfortunately, Uma’s husband Ethan Hawke didn’t feel the same way. Instead he crushed Uma’s heart by cheating on her with their nanny Ryan Shawhughes, who he later married and had a child with.

Reese Witherspoon – also known as America’s Sweetheart - was heartbroken after she announced her split from Ryan Phillippe. Everyone thought Ryan and Reese were the Hollywood couple with lasting power. All was well until Ryan’s romance with Abbie Cornish went from on-screen to off-screen fast. At the end of the day, no one knows whether Abbie and Ryan were getting hot and heavy while he was still married to Reese but Ryan and Abbie’s relationship conveniently heated up as soon as he and Reese were divorced.

Christie Brinkley is one of the world’s hottest (and most famous) supermodels. At 56 her smokin’ hot body and age-defying features rival most 20-year-olds – which is why we can’t figure out why Peter Cook (who is no catch himself, by the way) would cheat on his wife with this 19-year-old homewrecker.

Sienna Miller is the former fiance of actor Jude Law. Jude Law and Sienna Miller initially began dating when he cheated on his then-wife with Miller. Not long after, Sienna got a taste of her own medicine when she caught Jude cheating on her with their nanny Daisy Wright. Classic. Doesn’t the nanny fantasy usually involve a strikingly hot French-speaking seductress with thigh high stockings and stilettos? We thought so too. There’s really nothing to say here other than what the hell was he thinking?
