Robert Downey Jr. was photographed by the California Department of Corrections in August 1999 while serving time on a drug conviction. The second mug shot was taken in November 2000 after his arrest at the Merv Griffin Resort in Palm Springs for drug possession. The third photo was taken in April 2001 after the actor was busted in a Culver City alley for investigation of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Director Gus Van Sant was arrested in December 2006 on a drunk driving charge in Oregon. Van Sant, 54, was popped by Portland cops and booked into the Multnomah County jail, where the below mug shot was snapped. The Portland resident was nominated for an Academy Award for 1997’s “Good Will Hunting,” and has also directed “Elephant,” “Drugstore Cowboy,” and “My Own Private Idaho.”

Comedian Chris Tucker was arrested in April 2005 and charged with reckless driving and fleeing to elude after he did not immediately pull over his speeding 2005 Bentley. Tucker, 33, spent about 30 minutes in a McDuffie County lockup before posting cash bond and being released. According to cops, the “Rush Hour” star, an Atlanta native, was doing 109 mph on Interstate 20 when clocked by state troopers.

Actor Woody Harrelson was arrested by Columbus, Ohio police in October 1982 and charged with disturbing the peace (he was allegedly dancing in the middle of a busy road and tried to run away from the cops). The “Cheers” star, 21 at the time, avoided jail time by paying a fine.

Former NFL star Warren Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach cops in February 2010 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. According to police, the 37-year-old announcer for the NFL Network and former contestant on “Dancing With the Stars” pulled his girlfriend out of the hotel room bed they were sharing and demanded that she leave their room. As she began to get dressed, Sapp allegedly grabbed the woman’s neck and began to choke her before eventually pushing her out of the room. When police arrived they observed bruises on her neck and a swollen right knee. Sapp was taken to the Miami-Dade County jail where he posed for the below mug shot and was held on $1500 bond.

Shia LaBeouf, the star of “Transformers” and the upcoming Indiana Jones movie, was arrested in November 2007 after he refused to leave a Chicago Walgreens. The 21-year-old LaBeouf, who appeared to be intoxicated, was popped after he ignored a security guard’s demand to leave the drugstore. The actor, pictured below in a Chicago Police Department mug shot, was hit with a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge.

This Kiefer Sutherland mug shot was snapped by the Gelndale Police Department in December 2007 after the actor surrendered to serve a 48-day jail sentence. Sutherland, 40, plead no contest in October to driving while over the legal limit of .08. It was the second time in three years that the star of “24″ was busted for a DUI.

Mischa Barton was arrested on a drunk driving charge in Los Angeles in December 2007. The actress, 21, was nabbed by sheriff’s deputies in West Hollywood after her vehicle was spotted “straddling two lanes of traffic” and failing to signal when making a turn. After being pulled over, the former star of “The O.C.” was found to have been driving under the influence (and without a license, to boot). She was booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, where her bail was set at $10,000.

Actor Mickey Rourke was arrested in November 2007 by Miami Beach police and charged with driving under the influence. According to cops, the “Sin City” star was seen making an illegal U-turn on his Vespa scooter and then weaving across the road. Once stopped, police noted that Rourke had bloodshot eyes and smelled of booze. He also didn’t perform well on a series of sobriety tests. Rourke, 55, was then transported to the Miami-Dade County jail where he posed for the below mug shot and was held on $1000 bond.

Paul Reubens (aka Pee-wee Herman) turned himself in to Los Angeles police in November 2002 after being charged with misdemeanor possession of kiddie porn. It was not the first run-in with the law for the 50-year-old actor, who was arrested by Florida cops in July 1991 and charged with indecent exposure. Pee-wee, who was nabbed at an adult movie house, later pleaded no contest to the charge. He was fined, had to pay court costs, and ordered to produce an anti-drug public service announcement.

Rapper T-Pain (real name: Faheem Najm) turned himself in to Florida cops in November 2007 after the issuance of an arrest warrant charging him with driving with a suspended license. The performer, seen below in a Leon County Sheriff’s Office mug shot, had been previously busted twice for driving with a suspended license.

Yeah, it’s The Big Show. Paul Wight, the 500-pound wrestling star, was arrested in December 1998 by Memphis cops for allegedly exposing himself to a female motel employee. The criminal case, though, was subsequently dropped due to insufficient evidence. Wight–then billed as The Giant–was in town for a World Championship Wrestling (WCW) event. Wight, 31, now rassles as The Big Show for Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment, which purchased WCW in 2001.

New Age musician Yanni was arrested in March 2006 by Florida cops and charged with domestic abuse after allegedly tussling with his live-in girlfriend. The 51-year-old pianist (given name: John Yanni Christopher), allegedly struck the woman after ordering her to move out of his waterfront mansion. According to a Manalapan Police Department report, the musician also dished out some verbal abuse, calling the woman a “cunt,” “whore,” and “garbage.” Cops noted in their report that the woman’s upper lip was swollen and split open and that there was a small amount of dried blood on her lower lip as well as redness on both her forearms. Yanni, who denied striking her, spent about 11 hours in the Palm Beach County jail, where he posed for the below mug shot.

Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros, stars of the ABC megahit “Lost,” were arrested by Honolulu cops in December 2005 and charged with drunk driving. Rodriguez, 27, and Watros, 37, were nabbed minutes apart as their respective cars weaved along a highway linking Kailua and Honolulu. The actresses, both of whom failed field sobriety tests, were each charged with driving under the influence and released after posting $500 bail. Rodriguez, pictured directly below in a Honolulu Police Department mug shot, plays “Ana Lucia” on the TV series. Watros, who looks pretty toasted in her booking photo, plays “Libby” on the top-rated series.

Actress Heather Locklear was arrested by the California Highway Patrol in September 2008 on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription drugs. After receiving a call from a motorist who saw the 47-year-old Locklear driving erratically, officers found the TV star parked on the side of a road blocking traffic. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail where she posed for the below mug shot before posting $5000 bail.

Lil’ Kim (aka Kimberly Jones) was arrested by New Jersey cops in July 1996 and charged with possession of marijuana. The rapper was rounded up after a police raid on the Teaneck home of Biggie Smalls (aka Christopher Wallace), her rap rabbi.

Country singer Wynonna Judd was arrested in November 2003 for drunk driving. Following a traffic stop, Nashville cops detected the smell of booze on the 39-year-old performer whose eyes were watery and dilated. After consenting to a Breathalyzer, Judd blew a .175–more than twice the Tennessee limit.

It’s okay to hate boy bands from their frosted hair to their non-threatening harmonizing, there’s a lot to hate. That’s why it’s perfectly acceptable to bask in the seedy glow of Nick carter’s DUI.

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was arrested by California cops in March 2005 and charged with drunk driving. The 25-year-old singer was pulled over at about 7:30 PM for a traffic violation and was determined to be drunk during questioning by police. After failing a field sobriety test, Carter was booked into the Huntington Beach City Jail and released after four hours in custody.

When questioned why he wasn’t getting his DUI in some place much cooler than Huntington Beach, Carter replied in perfectly harmonized song and dance.

Jimi Hendrix was arrested at Toronto International Airport airport in May 1969 after customs inspectors found heroin and hashish in his luggage. Hendrix, who claimed the drugs were slipped into his bag by a fan without his knowledge, was later acquitted of the charges.

Nicole Richie posed for the left mug shot on August 23, 2007, after surrendering to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for a DUI conviction and served a four day sentence for the offense, however, the reality TV actress was released after spending 82 minutes in custody. The photo on the right was taken by the same sheriff’s department in December 2006 after Richie was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Phil Spector, the fright-haired music producer, was convicted in April 2009 for the second-degree murder of Lana Clarkson, a struggling actress who died of a gunshot wound in Spector’s Los Angeles home in February 2003. The 69-year-old Spector, who faces 15 years in prison, is pictured below in a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department mug shot.

Music producer/killer Phil Spector was photographed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in June 2009. Unlike his prior booking photo sessions, Spector was not allowed to wear a wig, per state prison regulations. Spector was sentenced to 19 years in prison following his conviction for murdering actress Lana Clarkson, who he shot to death in his Los Angeles home in February 2003.

David Crosby, founding member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash was arrested by Dallas police in April 1982 and charged with drug and gun possession. Crosby, 40 at the time, ended up serving 11 months of a five-year sentence in a Texas state prison.
