Our UK readers best know Shilpa from 2007’s “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” in which she, unfortunately, had to deal with both racial tension and discrimination on the show, directed her way primarily from a few housemates. The scandal ended in widespread anger amongst international viewers, especially in India. It wasn’t, however, until show sponsors began to pull out that “Celeb UK” finally took action, evicting the offending housemates. Still, a woman of class, as well as beauty, Shilpa went on to win the show with 63% of the final vote and even, eventually, received apologies from two of the three bullies.

US Actress Brittany Murphy died early 20 December 2009 after going into cardiac arrest, law enforcement sources said. Los Angeles city firefighters responded to ‘a medical request’ at Murphy’s home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road in West Hollywood. Murphy, 32, was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Country singer Wynonna Judd was arrested in November 2003 for drunk driving. Following a traffic stop, Nashville cops detected the smell of booze on the 39-year-old performer, whose eyes were watery and dilated. After consenting to a breathalyzer, Judd blew a .175–more than twice the Tennessee limit. Oops.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was arrested by Berkeley, California, cops in January 2003 and charged with drunk driving. The 30-year-old punk rocker was behind the wheel of his black BMW convertible when police pulled him over for speeding. After smelling booze on his breath, police administered a breathalyzer test, with Armstrong blowing a .18, more than twice the state’s legal limit of .08.

George Clinton, the colorful singer known as Dr. Funkenstein, was busted in December 2003 and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 62-year-old Parliament-Funkadelic founder spent less than an hour in the Leon County Jail before coming up with the $2650 he needed to bond out. 62?!
