Roger Goodell is on the cover of the latest issue of Sports Illustrated. At least, an illustration of the NFL commissioner adorns the cover. Real-life Goodell probably wouldn’t have loved the cover concept, which has him sitting on the Iron Throne from HBO’s Game of Thrones — not exactly a position rife with positive connotations.

Inside the magazine, Goodell sits at the top spot in SI’s list of the 50 most powerful people in sports.

In addition to the list, this month’s issue also contains a pretty great illustration of the “Kingdoms of Sport.” It’s done up in a Games of Thrones style — and fans of the show (and, of course, the novels) will enjoy seeing the parallels between the most powerful men in sports and the political leaders of Westeros.

North of the wall is The Land of Always Hockey, which is a very apt description of Canada. In the area that’s Winterfell on GoT lies The UFC North, with King Dana White-erfell. Bud Selig gets the equivalent of King’s Landing, which forces Roger Goodell into Riverrun (which doesn’t totally jive with him being named the most powerful man in sports, but whatever). Across the Narrow Sea/Revenue Stream lies the FIFA Fut-hills. Does this mean Sepp Blatter’s army is coming for all of us?
