The trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag just hit YouTube. Check it out by hitting play on the video above.
Before you let your hopes get too high after viewing what is, admittedly, a very good trailer, take a moment to remember how good the trailer was for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations — and how disappointing that game was for many players. The same thing happened with Assassin’s Creed III, which also left some gamers feeling unsatisfied. Trailer quality is definitely not a guarantee of game quality.
However, it looks like fans of the AC franchise can at least be a little excited about the prospects for this upcoming game, which is expected to be released sometime this spring. As expected, the game tells the story of Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway (the protagonist in Assassin’s Creed III). He gets caught up in the ancient war between the Assassins and the Templars — this time, in the context of conflict on the high seas.
Ubisoft isn’t really giving AC fans much of a break between games now. Assassin’s Creed III feels like it just came out (and it sort of did — the game was released in October, 2012). Is it too much, too soon?
