LeBron James Plays the Passive-Aggressive Victim Card… Again

What a surprise. LeBron James is playing the victim card again. You see, he’s threatening to take away his pre-game dunk routine, because people are still suggesting that he should be a contestant in the NBA Dunk Contest.

Said LeBron: “Maybe I should stop because it’s making a lot of people mad about what I do. They’re like, ‘Well, if you can do it in warm-ups, why don’t you [want to] be in the dunk contest?’ Stop it.”

How about LeBron stops it and just enters the stupid dunk contest next year? If he commits to it now, everyone will do just as he wants: be quiet.

And who’s mad? Nobody is mad. Does he know what the word “mad” means? “King James” has to stop being so affected by what other people say and do. He acts like he doesn’t care, but clearly he has the softest, most sensitive heart in the NBA. No, there’s nothing wrong with that, fellas.

LeBron, seriously man… if you wanna dunk, then dunk. If you don’t wanna dunk, then don’t. If you wanna cap all your fast breaks in a game with layups, go for it. If you want to score 70 a night, there’s no doubt or question that you have the ability. Whatever you do, please be quiet — and be unaffected.

He’s now old enough that he has to let this stuff go. His basketball acumen is slam-poetry in motion. Truly, he’s one of the finest basketball players to ever set foot on the hardwood, if not the second or third best of all-time. Still, he reacts to criticism with petulance, like he’s threatening to take his ball and go home. Enough is enough.
