NBA Referee Delivers Sick Block on Kris Humphries – Wait, What? (VIDEO)

For the second time this week, we bring you video of a puzzling confrontation between an NBA player, an NBA official and a regulation NBA basketball. Two days ago, we saw Toronto Raptors forward Amir Johnson fighting for the ball with an official. Today, it’s an official leaping into the air to block a free throw attempt by the Brooklyn Nets’ Kris Humphries. Are players and refs at war or something? What the heck is going on?

Take a look at the video of last night’s incident and try to come up with a rational explanation for why this happened:

If you’re a referee and you need to get a player’s attention, there are better ways to do it than leaping into the air to deny his free throw attempt (and then slapping him in the face on the way down). It was a sweet rejection, no doubt. For a tiny guy, the ref has some serious hops — it felt like he was in the air longer than Humphries’ 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian. Still, it’s not exactly the most professional thing for a ref to be doing.

There will be those who say this official did it just to get his moment in the spotlight and that may be true — he’s all over the highlight reels this morning — but it’s more likely that he simply got caught up in the moment.

Tune in tomorrow, when we (probably) bring you video of an NBA referee and a player doing this to each other.
