Wondering what games will be available for the upcoming Xbox One console when it ships in November? Microsoft has finally revealed the 23 titles gamers will be able to purchase along with their new video game system.
The list is a mix of exclusives (games only available on the Xbox One) and multi-platform releases (games available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U or PC).
It’s the exclusives that should excite Microsoft fanboys the most. Leading the charge is Forza Motorsport 5, the newest edition in Microsoft’s long-running and critically acclaimed racing franchise. If one game can show off the Xbox One’s hardware capabilities at launch, it will be Forza, which has always been known for its stunning graphics.
Other launch exclusives include zombie slasher Dead Rising 3, action-adventure title Ryse: Son of Rome, and Killer Instinct, a revival of the popular fighting game originally released for the Super Nintendo.
Unfortunately, several other high-profile exclusives, including first-person shooter (FPS) Titanfall, won’t be available until next year.
Arguably, the best titles for the Xbox One will be those also available for the PlayStation 4 and other systems. I’m most excited for Battlefield 4, though many FPS fans will be more interested in Call of Duty: Ghosts, which will also be available in November.
Then there’s Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and party favorite Just Dance 2014. Oh, and who can forget the Madden franchise, which hits a landmark this year with Madden NFL 25.
We still don’t know exactly when in November the Xbox One will launch, though it’s good to know early adopters will have several solid titles to choose from when it does hit stores.
