If you’re one of the people who dropped $120 on a plain white t-shirt designed by Kanye West, I would love to meet you and ask you a few questions. I’d probably start with WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?! I might follow that up with CAN I HAVE SOME OF YOUR MONEY GIVE IT TO MEEEE!
There are more than just a few of you
suckers heroes out there, because it’s just been announced that all the plain, white t-shirts in Kanye’s A.P.C. fashion line have sold. Don’t believe me? Head over to the page for the hilariously named Hip Hop T-Shirt and see for yourself.
Yep, enough people spent $120 on a t-shirt that’s virtually indistinguishable from one you could get at Target in a pack of eight for just $13.99 (that’s $1.75 per shirt) that there are no more of them to sell.
To be fair, there’s a slight difference between the shirts. The Kanye ones say “A.P.C. Kanye” on the inside of the collar, where no one could possibly see it. And maybe the quality is slightly better. But in the end, it’s just a white t-shirt. How could it possibly be worth a 6,800 percent markup?
The t-shirt isn’t the only overpriced item in Kanye’s collection that’s sold out, either. You can no longer buy a $280 plain, blue hooded sweatshirt, nor $265 jeans. Even the $250 Bill Belichick-inspired, gray, sleeveless hoodie is out of stock. People really want to give Kanye their money!
