New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey was just named the starter for the National League team at tonight’s MLB All-Star Game, but he’s still an unfamiliar face to many New Yorkers, as he’s only in his first full season in the big leagues.
On last night’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Harvey took to the streets of NYC in absolutely no disguise other than regular civilian clothes (and not his Mets uniform) and sought out self-declared Mets fans to interview. The topic of his questioning? New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, naturally.
Despite claiming to be big Mets fans — one guy even had a Matt Harvey jersey on — no one in the clip below recognized the all-star player until after he revealed his true identity. It’s pretty amusing. Check it out:
