Kevin Ware, the Louisville college basketball player whose horrific leg injury (warning: graphic video) became by far the dominant story of March Madness 2012, wants the world to know he’s determined to make a full recovery and return to the court stronger than ever.
This afternoon, Ware tweeted that his compound fracture has already healed to the point that he’s capable of working out on the leg press machine:
Kevin Ware leg pressing in July? That’s correct. #businessfirst

It’s great to hear that Ware’s doing so well and, frankly, it’s kind of stunning that his surgically repaired leg is already capable of withstanding such pressure. When the injury happened, it was difficult to believe Ware would ever walk again, let alone get this far in such a short period of time.
By all accounts, Ware’s a tremendously motivated individual and well deserving of all the raves he’s sure to receive when he sets foot back on the court. That’s still a few months off, of course. That gives Ware ample time to work on that whole referring to himself in the third person problem.
