The writers at Jimmy Kimmel Live have gotten pretty good at creating comedy out of hate — and at not actually doing any real writing. Previously, the Kimmel creative team had actors read mean tweets directed at them for the show. The results were so funny that the show did it again. And again. And again. And then a few more times.
This time around, it’s NBA stars and media members who are exposing (and reacting to) Twitter trolls. Kimmel rounded up some pretty big names, including Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and even Bill Simmons (who absolutely deserves every mean tweet he sees in his timeline).
All the tweets were pretty mean, but a few did make a good point. I’d never noticed it before, but Rajon Rondo really does look a lot like Franklin the Turtle:
