We’re just a little over two weeks away from the big day, May 26, when Netflix dumps an entire season of new Arrested Development on us. That’s 15 new episodes all that once! It’s safe to get very, very pumped.
It seems like awareness of this impending season is pretty high — especially among comedy fans. Just to be sure that it doesn’t get missed in the swell of season (and series) finales on network television this month, however, Netflix has apparently decided to give AD a bit of a viral marketing push.
This is how it began today in London, England:
Yup, that’s a real frozen banana stand. It’s selling frozen bananas, dipped in chocolate and nuts, for about a dollar. Those aren’t real-life Bluths inside, sadly, but the rest of that thing is extremely faithful to the Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana stand as it appeared on the show back before those FOX fascists took it away from us:
Expect to see other banana stands pop up around the world in the next few weeks. If you live in or near a major metropolitan area, there’s a good chance there will be one near you.
The stand pictured above is slotted to tour the U.K., perhaps selling real frozen bananas but more likely burning down and taking most of the Bluth family fortune with it.
