It’s a good thing Golden State Warriors guard Jarrett Jack is earning $4.5 million to play in the NBA this season, because he won’t be winning any million dollar half court shot contests any time soon.
During last night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jack attempted a buzzer beating three-pointer from downtown. Way downtown — we’re talking behind-his-own-foul-line downtown.
He must have drained the shot, right? That’s why there’s an article about it on Manolith.
Um, nope. Let’s just say that the ball might still be in the air. As the NBA Jam announcer would say, “Ugly shot!”
Jack absolutely launched the ball, sending it about 20 rows up in the stands behind the net. No word on whether any fans were injured. It’s probably a safe assumption that no one sitting way back there expected to suddenly be faced with the prospect of getting hit by an errant shot.
If this basketball thing doesn’t work out for him, maybe he has a future as a Hail Mary specialist in the NFL. That’s one heck of an arm.
