Can Roger Goodell fine teams for cruel and unusual punishment? The New York Jets are making a strong and consistent case for deserving discipline, based on sheer douchebaggery.
Tim Tebow is still under contract with the Jets. Seriously. They don’t want him, but they’re also not trading him away, nor letting him walk as a free agent. So, where would you expect Tebow to be when the team opens the doors for voluntary workouts next week? Well, you’ll find him at the Jets’ training facilities! Where else would he be? There’s nothing like working for a bunch of employers who wish they’d never signed you to a contract in the first place.
You may hate the guy. You may think he’s the worst example of a quarterback in NFL history. You may loathe his outspoken nature when it comes to his faith, but I bet you wish every dude on your favorite squad had his passion and work ethic.
Speaking of Tim Tebow and Jesus, whattaya wanna bet that Tebow’s verse of the week for his eye black (I’m guessing he wears it when he’s golfing) is Matthew 5:41: “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.” I do love (probably for all the wrong reasons) Tebow for continuing to buzz around in Rex Ryan’s periphery, even when it’s obvious he won’t take a snap for the Jets in 2013. If anything is taunting or annoying to Coach Ryan, I love it all the more.
