It’s virtually impossible to objectively rank the coolest and/or hottest female drummers found on the Internet. That’s not going to stop me from trying, though!
There are a variety of playing styles and skill sets among those I’ve included in my list, but one thing I can say for sure about these drummer girls is that they all have serious chops.
9. Mari Voiles
This pink-haired pixie looks to be about the size of a drumstick, but there are certainly no rules stating you must be physically robust to jam with Tool.
8. Nea Batera
Nea looks like she could probably kick the crap out of most dudes. Chances are she’d do it while wearing the same stiletto sneakers she’s sporting in the video.
7. Salin Gas
Another petite sprite rocking out with Maynard James Keenan. Chicks with sticks apparently dig Tool.
6. Meytal Cohen
Gotta appreciate a lovely lady drummer who likes to smile for the camera. No need to act all hard while laying down a little Led Zeppelin — getting the Led out is a joyous occasion. Meytal has a ton of covers on YouTube. If you’re digging her vibe (and no doubt you are), you can check out more of her stuff on her channel.
5. Emmanuelle Caplette
She’s French (Canadian). She loves sophisticated rhythms and syncopation. She’s the girl-next-door type. She’s pretty much awesome.
4. Mandy Tieman
This girl hammers with some force. Most of her videos are from live concerts, but, as you can see in this video, she definitely knows how to work it out solo.
3. Hannah Ford
There’s so much to choose from with Hannah Ford: sleepy jazz solos, hard rock collaborations, jazz fusion — and more. She’s worked with some industry giants, including a stint as the touring drummer for Prince and the New Power Generation on their 2012 tour.
2. Lux Drummerette
You wanna know her real name, right? It’s Lux. Seriously. It means “light of God” in ancient Latin — and it’s now recognized as a measurement of light in English. Don’t let the dark make-up and hair fool you. This girl may be full of mystery, but, like her name suggests, she beams.
1. Brittany Maccarello
Brittany is my personal favorite on this list. I say this as someone who once sat behind a kit on a daily basis. I suppose it’s merely my own subjectivity, but I dig her style. I love that she holds the sticks like a home run hitter, and her physiological flow around her set-up is seamless.
