Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin sure is getting good at adding things to his work schedule that aren’t working on the sixth (and seventh) books in his A Song of Ice and Fire heptology.

A few months ago, we learned that he had signed a deal with HBO to develop new shows for the network. Now, he’s adding acting to his resume.

Don’t get your armor in a knot, Game of Thrones, fans. Martin isn’t about to become Hollywood’s next great leading man. He’s simply planning to go the route of Stan Lee and make a cameo appearance in the filmed version of the fictional universe he created.

Deadline is reporting that Martin will briefly appear in one of the episodes of Game of Thrones’ third season, which premieres on Sunday, March 31.

GoT executive producer David Benioff told Deadline that “you will see [Martin]” in one episode, but he refused to answer the question of which one. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled.

Martin was actually supposed to have a cameo in the pilot episode, but his scene ended up on the cutting room floor after “90% of the pilot was re-shot.”
