Batman has really let himself go, apparently.
The Caped Crusader seems to have packed on a few pounds, which might explain why he’s reverted to the comfortably stretchy costume of the Adam West era.
But he’s still nobly fighting crime, even if he’s departed his native Gotham in order to clean up the mean streets of northern England.
Batman — or, more accurately, a schlub masquerading as Batman — turned up a couple of weeks ago at a police station in Bradford with a suspected burglar he had apprehended.
Just-released images from security cameras at the police station depict the not-so-Dark Knight in a loose-fitting blue and grey outfit, delivering a dastardly villain into police custody.
Before the British bobbies could learn the true identity of the caped crusader, though, he vanished into the night.
“The person who brought the wanted man into the station was dressed in a full Batman outfit,” a spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police told Reuters. “His identity, however, remains unknown.”
It’s a pretty safe bet, though, that this Batman is not the alter ego of a dashing billionaire playboy.
