For those still in a post-holidays daze (wake up — it’s already February!), the NHL solved its labor crisis and professional hockey is being played right now. Well, not right now (it’s the mid-day), but there will be some NHL hockey played tonight.
And when a goal is scored tonight, there’s a decent chance of this happening:
That’s right: hockey players are Kaepernicking now.
The guy in the video above is Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks, so it kind of makes sense that he’d send a shout-out to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in advance of his team’s Super Bowl showdown with the Baltimore Ravens. There’s no NHL team in San Francisco, so the Sharks are the closest thing the 49ers have to ice skating brethren.
The pro sports franchises in the San Francisco Bay Area have always been very supportive of each other, which is actually really awesome.
