Is declaring your undying love for your partner not special enough for people anymore?
The folks in the video above felt like they had to go above and beyond a traditional, feet-on-the-ground wedding and decided to tie the knot up in the California sky — in a hot air balloon, to be exact. With several of their friends. In high winds.
Can you guess where this story is going?
Things didn’t exactly go as planned, to say the least. You wouldn’t be reading this article if things went off without a hitch. Those aforementioned high winds forced the pilot to make an emergency crash landing and, judging by the video, it wasn’t exactly smooth. (What’s the deal with the one person going “Oh yeah!” as they plummet to the ground, BTW?)
Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt in the crash. Physically, at least. Saying that you got married in a “skid mark” doesn’t exactly carry the same emotional resonance as saying that you got hitched while flying through the air.
