As most football fans are aware, first-year Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is currently on leave from the team as he battles leukemia. His absence hasn’t prevented the Colts (the worst team in the NFL in 2011) from amassing a 7-4 record and setting themselves on track to earn a Wild Card berth in the AFC — which is a testament to just how solid a foundation Pagano built before he left the team prior to Week 5.
Many of the Colts players have shaved their heads in support of Pagano’s fight. Now, two of the team’s cheerleaders have joined the movement.
Second-year Colts cheerleader Megan M. (do cheerleaders not get full last names?) said she would shave off her long locks if Colts fans donated $10,000 to charity. The fans came through in a big, big way, raising more than $22,000 for leukemia research.
Joining Megan in saying goodbye to her hair at yesterday’s game against the Buffalo Bulls (which the Colts won) was fellow cheerleader Crystal Anne.
