As everyone in the tech world already knows, Apple will unveil a 7-inch version of the iPad at an event this afternoon–probably called the iPad Mini. Unless Apple has done a great job hiding a secret italso plans to reveal today, the event should be pretty anticlimactic. Really, the only thing that we don’t know about the iPad Mini is what its price will be. It’s not hard to figure out what it will look like or what its specs will be.
Despite the lack of intrigue surrounding today’s event, there will still be millions of Apple fans (and general tech fans) who will want to follow along with the action. For the first time since 2010, Apple is going to stream the event live.
The kicker is that you will need an Apple device to watch the live stream. According to The Verge, Apple customers will be able to watch on an iOS device, a Mac or via an Apple TV. This might sound a bit like preaching to the choir, but Apple has always been the kind of company that’s more interested in creating an “exclusive club” feeling among its existing customers than it is in courting new customers (and it’s not like the company has any difficulties courting new customers).
So, fire up your Apple device at 1 p.m. ET today (10 a.m. PT) and follow along as Tim Cook and company show us the mini iPad that will dominate tablet sales this holiday season.
