Philippine Prisoners Do “Gangnam Style” Dance (VIDEO)

Before you get too excited about how awesome this video is, and how fun it looks, remember that everyone in this video is a prisoner. At this particular prison in the Philippines, dance is used as part of each convict’s rehabilitation program.

The people running the prison were unhappy with how unstructured and poorly attended the prison’s exercise sessions were, so they decided to try something new and start teaching dance. Previous videos from this same prison in Cebu, Philippines (like the prisoners dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”) have become huge Internet hits.

Most of the comments on these videos are about how fun it looks to be a prisoner in the Philippines. To call it “fun” is probably a bit of an exaggeration. Reportedly, these prisoners practice four hours a day. It’s not like they have anything better to do–they are in prison!

However, you know what’s better than being involved in an awesome, choreographed group dance? Not being stuck behind bars in an overcrowded prison in the Philippines.

Prison is fun, and apparently co-ed.
