What a journey this dude has been on. Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but the guy is a skilled make believe artist. Yep. He’s an artist. I do believe that. For years I’ve thought of him as Lord Vader…hoping he’d deny the empire and come back to the rebel alliance.
Tom’s popularity has waned in recent years. It seems that everything was easily covered before the age of information was in full bloom, but now…it’s all out there for people to see. Former members of the Church of Scientology have started spouting about the organization, and most recently, about Tom and the fact that he has received special dispensation from the church in order to see Suri. Other church members are irritated because they’re not supposed to see family members who have left the church. But honestly…what are they gonna do? Kick out Tom Cruise?
According to a friend, who has remained nameless, and is probably not an actual friend…yet for the sake of yellow journalistic blogging:
He’s finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn’t served him as well as he’d hoped – he’s gone through three divorces, and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low.
Clearly it’s in the best interest of Scientology to let Tom pick and choose what he deems as desirable, but I have a feeling Tom may not be gracing the halls of the Celebrity Center as time continues to pass. For a variety of reasons, I believe we may see a Tom Cruise renaissance in the near future.
