Jamie Hilton. A former Mrs. Idaho, wife of one and mother of three, has completed the most incredible medical procedure ever. Yes. Editorializing here. It’s my humble opinion.
The 36 year old was on a fishing trip this summer, when she slipped and hit her head on a boulder. Hard. The blunt force trauma caused her brain to swell, and her life was threatened. Doctors offered a 72 hour window that would determine her fate–life or death.
They offered the option of a surgical procedure that would allow for a quarter of her skull to be removed to allow the brain’s swelling to dissipate without pressure. While detached from the rest of her skull, the removed piece of skull would be surgically inserted into her abdomen, so that it might be properly nourished and protected.

After 42 days, the bone was removed from her abdomen, and placed back into her head. The photos you see illustrate the story. Hilton is now in recovery, and looks as beautiful and healthy as ever. Life has continued, she has experienced no brain damage. Doctors expect her to make a full recovery. And I am offering a salute, humble bow and a combination head nod/shake of approval and believing disbelief to the medical team responsible, and for the courage displayed by Hilton.
Perhaps I’m a little over the top with my admiration for such a procedure, but what do you think? Ever seen something like this?

So many good stories on former beauty queens. I know one lady that lost 1/2 her leg in a car accident and in 1st runner up. So good to see such a good outcome from such a tragic story
