Sneak Peek At ‘Bad Piggies,’ The ‘Angry Birds’ Sequel (Sister Game?) From Rovio

Game developer Rovio, maker of the insanely popular Angry Birds series of games, has just given mobile gamers a sneak at the next game its working on: Bad Piggies.

The game was first announced last month. With Bad Piggies, Rovio plans to turn the Angry Birds universe on its head. The green pigs, the bad guys that you have to destroy in Angry Birds, are now the protagonists. In Bad Piggies, the pigs are stranded on an island and gamers have to help them build contraptions so that they can escape. From what the trailer shows, it looks like you’ll have a lot of different wheels, wings and motors to choose from and there will be many different ways to pass each level.

Take a look:

What do you think?

The graphics and physics are obviously very similar to Angry Birds. The gameplay looks pretty fun. Adding the puzzle element could be just what Rovio needs to revitalize the franchise.

Bad Piggies comes out on September 27th. You’ll be able to play the game on your iOS or Android phone, or on PC or Mac.

  1. It’s nice to see Rovio is still basically just ripping off free flash games that other people made years ago and adding their brand of polish.

Don’t get me wrong, Angry Birds was a great implementation of the genre, and I’m sure fans of games like Fantastic Contraptions will enjoy Bad Piggies too.
