Despite forcing opposing quarterback Michael Vick to throw four interceptions and generally look like he doesn’t belong on an NFL field, the Cleveland Browns found a way to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in their home opener yesterday. Vick threw a touchdown pass with mere moments remaining in the game and the Eagles, a team many had pegged as Super Bowl contenders, escaped with the least convincing win of Week 1.
Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson, the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, made his debut yesterday. Richardson ran for 39 yards and added another 5 through the air. He didn’t look like the beast he was in college, but perhaps that should have been expected since he missed almost all of training camp with a hurt knee.
Richardson did show one flash of greatness, however. On his best run of the day, he took a handoff to the left, hut the hole hard and absolutely trucked Eagles safety Kurt Coleman. Coleman’s helmet went flying.

Is this a sign of what’s to come as Richardson gets healthy and gets more involved in the Browns’ offense?
