I caught sight of this video as a thumbnail, and thought the water looked incredibly familiar.
Turns out, I was right. A Missouri native, I thought this was Lake of the Ozarks, which has a distinct vibe. A distinct, party vibe. I grew up on Table Rock Lake, which is really surrounded by more of the Ozarkian region, further south in the state, but if there is one thing you can find on both bodies of water, it is boaters who like to go very, very fast. All too often…too fast. As you’ll see in the video below.
I watched this video, and knew that it had to be shared with you all, the Manolithers. Let’s have a look, before I continue to editorialize:
Seriously. That’s what you call cornering, when you should be shooting the cap. For starters, I have no idea what everyone was doing standing up, other than the pilot. And I have no idea what the pilot was thinking, trying to navigate at that speed in such choppy water. Homeboy gets absolutely rag-dolled, which is the only reason the boat looses power, and whips a 180 while tossing everyone around like a cement mixer.
If you’ll watch it again, notice the shape of the dual throttles before, and after the chick in the green bikini is tossed from side to side. “What happened?” Seriously, darlin’…stupid happened.
If you’re curious why Missouri is known as the Show Me State, now you know why. People aren’t always satisfied with considering possibility, they have to see everything for themselves. “Show me!” Even if that means getting pummeled by a body of fresh water and a boat.
In all seriousness…glad everyone was OK. Lesson learned? Probably not.
