Once upon a time, Tony Farmer was a high school basketball player that top colleges across the nation were going after. The 6’7″ power forward was set to graduate from high school in 2013 and was expected to go on to a great career in the NCAA.
Today, Farmer is facing three years behind bars after being convicted of kidnapping and felonious assault.
Still just 18 years old, Farmer’s career path veered away from basketball after an incident in which he attacked then-girlfriend Andrea Lane. He dragged her by her hair and then stole her cell phone, bank card, car keys and computer. All of this was captured on video, which helped lead to his conviction.
When the judge in the case announced the verdict and the sentencing, Farmer collapsed to the ground. Before he fell, he was seen saying, “I got three years?” to his lawyer.
Take a look:
In the background of the video, you can hear crying. That’s reportedly Lane, who didn’t want Farmer to be sentenced to prison (despite the fact that she was the victim of the crime).
Some are saying that Farmer is a drama queen and pretended to collapse. Do you think he legitimately fainted or is he just being a big baby?
