The trailer for the upcoming film Zero Dark Thirty just hit the Internet. Though it doesn’t show a ton of the film (it’s more of a teaser than a full trailer), it definitely succeeds in building excitement. Check it out:
Zero Dark Thirty is about the black ops who planned and executed the mission to kill Osama Bin Laden. It’s directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, both of whom worked on The Hurt Locker–so they know a thing or two about handling movies with dramatic military content.
Reportedly, Barack Obama gave Bigelow and her crew access to classified documents, so that they could get the details of the film correct. Bigelow has denied receiving and special treatment from the president or his staff.
Originally, Zero Dark Thirty was going to hit theaters in October 0f 2012–before the presidential election. Critics argued that the film might be interpreted as pro-Obama propaganda, so the studio pushed the release date back to December.
