Randy Travis, contemporary country living legend, was found naked in the middle of a Texas road, intoxicated, having escaped from his 1998 Pontiac TransAm, after crashing it into a road barricade. When police arrived at the scene, Travis refused to take a breathalyzer test and proceeded to yell and curse at the officers. He allegedly even threatened to shoot and kill the officers who were placing him under arrest. Naked. I did mention that, yes?
This is the second alcohol related arrest for Travis this year. The first was a mere public intoxication charge, after he was found drunk, in front of a local Baptist church’s building. This one…eh…the charges are far more severe, including felony counts of retaliation and obstruction. The singer-actor was released from prison earlier today, after posing for this most memorable of mug shots–complete with black smock to cover his nudity–and after posting $21,500 for bond.
Those who are fans of the popular country artist are well aware that Randy and his wife divorced in 2010. Since then, it has seemed a struggle for Travis to get his life together, and begin progressing in a positive direction. Hopefully someone can extend the helping hand, and hopefully, after this incident, Travis will see that he needs to take it.
