Can’t Eat At Chic-fil-A For Political Reasons? Here’s A Recipe For Homemade Chic-fil-A (VIDEO)

You’ve surely heard the whole story by now. Chic-fil-A’s owner, Truett Cathy, is a philanthropist who supports a number of scholarships and children’s charities. However, he also is opposed to gay marriage and it turns out that many of the charities he supports have the same position. Supporters of homosexual rights are boycotting Chil-fil-A, while supporters of the traditional definition of marriage are making a point to eat there more than ever. It’s a mess.

For those of you who can no longer eat at Chic-fil-A because you refuse to support a hateful company (or, at least, a company’s hateful owner), it’s a sad predicament. Chic-fil-A is absolutely delicious. The prospect of never eating there again is not pleasant.

Luckily, YouTube user HilalCooking has stepped up with a video recipe for a Chic-fil-A sandwich, which she calls the Chick-fil-Gay. It turns out that Chic-fil-A’s famous recipe is really easy to make at home. Take a look:

If you weren’t taking notes during the video, here’s a list of the ingredients you’ll need:

1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
1/4 cup pickle juice
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup oil (for frying)
Optional: up to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a spicy chicken sandwich

Basically, you just marinate the chicken breast in the pickle juice for about an hour. Then dip the chicken in some egg (beat the egg, first) and then dip it into a mixture of flour and the other spices. Cover that sucker real good and then fry it up in a hot pan with some oil in it. Cook it up for a few minutes (make sure it’s done–food poisoning sucks!) and then put it on a toasted bun with some pickle slices.

Voila, a homemade Chic-fil-A sandwich that you’re conscience can feel good about!
