…but it won’t matter, and it certainly won’t affect profits, because the line was drawn in this battle long, long ago. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, I’m going to state one fact that is undeniable. There is no such thing as bad publicity. There may be positive and negative publicity, but a spin-doctor would argue that even negative publicity generates more curiosity and intrigue for a product provider. In such a war of attrition, there will also be a newly developing intrigue. Don’t agree? Let’s discuss.
Protesters have taken to the streets, and the store fronts of Chick-Fil-A restaurants to oppose the opposition to gay marriage. So. Ultimately, you’ve got one man, who has franchised a lot of restaurants bearing the name, Chick-Fil-A, who believes marriage is a relationship that consists of one man and one woman. And because he believes this, for some reason he gives loads of cash to organizations which lobby in various states that such should be the case by law, as opposed to trusting that if such is the case, then it will be taken care of in due time…which he would probably claim to believe anyway, but for some reason, this is where he investing hefty profits. Because that money couldn’t be spent better attending to legitimate needs both domestic and foreign, especially considering the seal on the envelope in which it is delivered.
Hold up. Don’t paint it yet.
And he is now at war with a broad community of people who believe that anyone should be able to get married, regardless of gender. Who, desiring acceptance of equality, or perhaps better put, fairness, often act out as poorly as the opposition, and even shame those who have not, nor will ever desire to start swinging from one side of the fence.
And not to leave out the inevitable shades of gray, there are those on one side of the fence or the other–wait. Why is there a figurative fence!?
Did either side representing this argument ever consider sitting down to discuss these issues? Sorry. It’s Friday. My brain checked out with my alarm clock this morning. What a foolish question.
What to do here? Eat at KFC or Popeye’s? Or just follow the lead of gay friends who are still eating at Chick-Fil-A?
I think I’ll have a salad for lunch.
