Hope Solo Offered Warning for Failed Drug Test

Hope Solo, the 30 year old goalkeeper for the United States women’s soccer team, and the Megan Fox of the soccer world, has tested positive for an illegal substance. Keep reading. This is dandy.

So… you still wanna be a famous athlete who has the opportunity to compete in the Olympics to score a gold medal for your country? All for travel expenses and a small living stipend? Hey…so long as our former congressmen, senators and presidents are able to sponge their lifetime salaries for their “public service,” I see no reason to offer the athletes anything that would help cover their bills while they’re away representing our nation with an act of good will. Digressing…………

What most people don’t understand about the “illegal substance” issue: The list of substances that are considered no-no’s by the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) is so long that it’s nearly impossible to know. Such was the case with Hope Solo, who has cooperated every step of the way with the USADA. Solo tested positive due to a diuretic that was part of a Pre-Menstral medication that she was offered via prescription. You get that? A pill that is designed to help with ladiness, that I imagine addresses the bloating issues associated with ladiness, can get you banned from international competition.

Who knew?

Apparently not Hope Solo.

The organization has offered a warning to Solo. And I’m sure Hope won’t be accepting any more prescriptions without handing the banned list to a physician or pharmacist in charge of filling the bottle. Regardless, she will be playing in the Olympics–so those who love to ogle? There’s nothing to worry about.
