When I was 12, all I cared about was whether the Power Rangers would defeat Zordon and whether my mom would buy me the right flavor of Kool-Aid. At the age of 12, the kid in the video below had the foresight to record the first half of a viral video–before the viral video had even been invented.
It’s now 20 years later and Jeremiah McDonald is a 32-year-old man. He recorded the second half of his conversation with himself and posted it on YouTube. The results are pretty awesome. Take a look:
McDonald is a filmmaker now, so the fact that the video looks slick and is well-edited shouldn’t be a surprise. What is surprising is how well his 12-year-old self set him up for success. At such a young age, he knew exactly what bits he needed to get on video to create a masterpiece later on. That’s talent.
McDonald even had the bravery to leave in the footage of his 12-year-old self spazzing out like a normal (meaning weird) 12-year-old. I don’t think I’d have the bravery to show the world the dumb stuff I was doing at that age.
