Tom Cruise is probably batcrap crazy. You know, the couch jumping and the belief in an alien warlord and all that stuff. That hasn’t stopped movie audiences from flocking to see him on the big screen, though. And it hasn’t stopped movie studios from opening their wallets in a big way to get him to star in their films.
Forbes just released its annual list of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and Cruise’s name is at the top of the list. He’s not only number one, but he earned twice as much money as the guy who’s at number two (Leonardo DiCaprio, not exactly a slouch). Maybe all that Xenu and thetans garbage has some merit after all…
Coming in at numbers three and four are some surprising names. Adam Sandler grabbed the bronze medal in earnings, despite the fact that he stopped being funny about 20 years ago and released this abomination last year. Maybe Sandler has figured out the secret t0 increasing your earnings–play both starring roles in your films.
The Rock grabbed the fourth slot, probably because he’s in seemingly every action movie that gets made these days.
Here’s a look at the actors who made up the rest of the top ten:
Tom Cruise ($75 million)
Leonardo DiCaprio ($37 million)
Adam Sandler ($37 million)
Dwayne Johnson ($36 million)
Ben Stiller ($33 million)
Sacha Baron Cohen ($30 million)
Johnny Depp ($30 million)
Will Smith ($30 million)
Mark Wahlberg ($27 million)
Taylor Lautner ($26.5 million)
Robert Pattinson ($26.5 million)
