The Chicago White Sox just acquired third baseman Kevin Youkilis from the Boston Red Sox via trade. The relationship is still new and the two parties are still getting used to each other, so we should give them some time to work out the fine details. They are going to need it, apparently.
Last night, Youkilis batted second for his new team. He went 1-for-4 in his Chicago debut. No one named Kevin Youkilis appeared on the official lineup card for the game, however. Batting second was someone (who doesn’t exist) named “Youklis.”

Baseball managers aren’t all spelling bee champions, but you would expect a major league team to know how to spell the names of the players on its own roster.
