‘Jeopardy!’ Host Alex Trebek Suffers Heart Attack

This results when the blood supply to the heart is interrupted, often due to a blockage in the coronary artery.

What is a heart attack?

Alex Trebek, 71, the longtime host of Jeopardy!, suffered one of these over the weekend. He was admitted to hospital in Los Angeles, where he lives, and is expected to make a full recovery. The heart attack was described as “mild.”

This isn’t the first heart attack for Trebek. He also suffered a mild heart attack back in 2007. He was back at work within weeks following that incident.

Sony Pictures Television released a statement about Trebek’s status, saying that the television host “is in good spirits and is currently under observation and undergoing further testing.”

Trebek is expected to make a speedy recover and be back on set as the host of Jeopardy! when when the show begins taping a new season next month. It will be the 29th season of the iconic game show.
