Courtney Hawkins Flips, Literally, After Being Selected In The MLB Draft (VIDEO)

The Chicago White Sox selected outfielder Courtney Hawkins out of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas with the No. 13 pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.

Hawkins’ game has been described as versatile; he’s batting .437 with 11 homers this season and he’s also 5-2 as a pitcher with a stunning .096 ERA.

He’s also ridiculously athletic, as he demonstrated on television after being picked. Though he stands 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, he had no problem performing a flip for the MLB Network cameras shortly after he was officially selected.

Check it out. You can almost hear the moment the White Sox front office staff has a collective heart attack at the fear of Hawkins’ landing wrong and tearing an ACL:

Though he’s experienced success as a pitcher up to this point, the White Sox as expected to ask Hawkins to focus on playing as an outfielder.
