The ‘Hunger Games’ Kid Bought Heath Ledger’s Tree House (PHOTOS)

Young actor Josh Hutcherson is riding high off the success of The Hunger Games. So high, in fact, that he’s purchased a “tree house” previously owned by Heath Ledger.

The house isn’t actually up in the trees, though. It’s located on a property in the Hollywood Hills that has so many trees that Ellen DeGeneres (who owned the place until she sold it to Ledger in 2005 for about $2 million) famously called the home a “tree house.” The house has almost 1,00 square feet of indoor living space and over 2,000 square feet of densely wooded outdoor space.

The property was sold for $2.5 million after Ledger died in 2008. It’s been on and off the market a few times since then, so perhaps some of the Ledger magic is gone at this point.

The most recent listing of the 2-bed, 2-bath property was at $2.99 million, but Hutcherson may have gotten a bit of a deal.

Check out some photos of the place below. The coolest feature is probably the outdoor deck with a large movie screen.
