You’ll have to trust me when I make the following statement:
Had Donald Driver opted for a career in dance vs. professional football, he would have achieved success. I’m an expert. You’ll just have to trust me on this one. Sure, he was a little stiff at times during the actual partnering…probably nervous about breaking his partner in half…but that takes a couple/few years of getting used to. Once you understand that you can toss them around…so long as you catch them? Sky’s the limit.
Donald Driver offered a precise example of why Dancing With the Stars is such a crowd-pleaser and ratings giant. Every week, the Green Bay Packer, 37 year-old, veteran wide receiver got better and better–more and more comfortable in rehearsal, and in performance. If you caught the finale, or anything during the season, it was obvious that Driver saw the show as an opportunity–and when it comes to being in competition…who really stood a chance against the guy? He’s a Super Bowl champion.
I often peek at the dance shows, just to see the talent, as well as the trends in the contemporary dance world. Donald Driver is the first contestant on this particular show, Dancing With the Stars, that I’ve ever thought could hack it as a legitimate dancer. Not a showman–a dancer. Sure, he would have needed about 8-10 years of training in various disciplines…but the guy has got the goods. And he’s a beast not to be denied on the gridiron.
