Twitter has been a great thing for sports fans. Not only does it provide access to the thoughts and feelings of some of the world’s most famous athletes (as well as some of the least famous), it’s become the primary way sports journalists break stories.
Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is considered by many to be a bit of a loose cannon and he has taken to Twitter in a way that none of his peers (mostly stuffy old men who aren’t exactly social media-savvy) have.
Now, he’s even posting trade rumors.
Just a few minutes ago, Irsay posted the following message to his Twitter account:
Hold the phones..we MAY have a trade,Colts Fans!!!!!!

What it means is up to interpretation. It could be a major trade in the works, it could be a very minor trade. Or, it could be nothing at all.
For now, the best guess is that the trade (assuming it actually exists) probably involves defensive end Dwight Freeney. Freeney is due a lot of money in 2012 and he doesn’t really fit in new Colts head coach Chuck Pagano’s defensive scheme.
