Summer is coming, which means we are entering the season for raunchy, R-rated comedies. One of the most promising on this summer’s schedule is The Watch, a movie about four friends who form a de facto neighborhood watch organization and investigate a mystery that ends up being far more extraordinary than they expected (read: aliens). It stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. It was co-written by Seth Rogen.
The red band trailer for the movie just dropped, and it features all the profanity, horse ejaculate and exploding cows you would expect. Check it out:
The Watch was originally called Neighborhood Watch, but it got a name change to try to distance it from the shooting of African-American teen Trayvon Martin that occurred earlier this year. Seems like an unneccesary move to me, but Hollywood doesn’t like taking risks like that.
The movie opens on July 27th.
