Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann stole the show in Knocked Up, playing Katherine Heigl’s brother- and sister-in-law, Pete and Debbie. They represented the downside of having kids, often fighting with each other and generally seeming unhappy with being married and having kids.
Now, Rudd and Mann are reprising their roles in a new Judd Apatow-produced film that serves as a sequel to Knocked Up. It’s called This Is 40 and the trailer just debuted.
In the trailer, we catch up with the couple as they struggle with the stigma of turning 40. They make a pact (reluctantly, on one side) to exercise more and get more involved with their kids’ lives. Then some kinda-funny jokes happen, there’s a character who threatens a relationship, some Apatow regulars appear (Jason Segel and Melissa McCarthy) and the whole thing ends with Paul Rudd lying on a bed with his pants off and his legs in the air, trying to get Leslie Mann to take a close look at his anus (or at least something in that general area). Sounds like a Judd Apatow movie to me.
Take a look:
This Is 40 hits theaters on December 21 of this year.
