F*ck it, he’ll do it live for a bunch more years!
Hated/beloved Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has reportedly signed a multi-year contract to remain with the network that made him a household name. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but it’s safe to say that O’Reilly and his polarizing show, The O’Reilly Factor, will remain on the air for the foreseeable future.
In a statement released by Fox News CEO and Chairman Roger Ailes, O’Reilly’s talent was praised:
“Bill’s immense talent, intellect and raw convictions are an extremely rare combination in television and exemplify why ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ has been the number one program in cable news for more than a decade. He is a tremendous force in the business and has helped to make Fox News the success story it is today.”
O’Reilly certainly helped put Fox News on the map after joining the fledgling network in 1996. Though he is under constant fire from those on the left, and there are plenty of them in the media, he has remained steadfast in many of his convictions (some would say to a fault, as he has refused to change positions after being proven wrong on many occasions).
“It’s been great fun in challenging the establishment and exposing the corruption across the nation,” O’Reilly said of his new contract. “The Factor takes pride in holding people accountable and I especially look forward to the exciting news cycle ahead. FOX News has become the primary force in television news under Roger’s leadership and I’m delighted to continue there for years to come.”
The O’Reilly Factor consistently dominates the ratings. It has remained the most-watched cable news show for 125 straight months. Over four million people watch it every day.
