President Barack Obama is a cool cat. He’s called out comedian Aziz Ansari for having fewer Twitter followers than him and told Bill Simmons that he watches NBA games on his iPad when he’s really supposed to be reading briefings. Obama has also shown that he has a musical side, once singing some Al Green on stage at a fundraising event.
Now, the POTUS has taken things to the next level. Appearing as a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Obama joined the show’s host and the house band, The Roots, in “slow jamming the news.” Obama’s message centered around his goal to get Congress to kill an increase in interest rates for student loans.
Though Obama spoke his part of the song, leaving the crooning to Fallon and The Roots, he looked just as relaxed and in control as you’d expect. Say what you want about his politics, but Obama is by far the most media-savvy President we’ve ever seen.
Take a look:
Next up for Obama is the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner. He’s dropped some quality jokes on the audience in years past, so it will be interesting to see what he has in store this year.
