The Secret Service Wants To Have A Chat With Ted Nugent In Their Office

The Nuge may have gone and done it this time.

The legendary hard rocker, gun rights activist and conservative has revealed that he will meet with members of the Secret Service tomorrow to explain some comments that he made towards President Barack Obama. Specifically, Nugent said that Obama is running an “evil, America-hating administration.” He went on to say, “If Barack Obama becomes the next president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

“We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November,” he added.

The Secret Service presumably wants to ensure that Nugent is not a threat to the POTUS, as the statement above seems to indicate.

The remarks were circulated by some Democrats and eventually reached the doorstep of the Secret Service.

“The conclusion will be obvious that I threatened no one,” Nugent said in an interview with Glenn Beck on Wednesday. He said that he would cooperate with the investigation.

Nugent insisted that he was simply trying to rally support behind Republican candidate Mitt Romney and in no way threatening the President. He has a storied history of colorful political remarks, but it’s difficult to imagine that he is a real threat to the life of any politician. Perhaps the primary concern is that someone would take his words and act upon them.

Romney’s people were quick to condemn Nugent’s words. In a statement, a Romney spokesperson said, “Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from. Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil.”
