President Obama Sings Some Al Green (Watch)

Dear President Obama:

You may have just secured my vote in the upcoming election.

OK. I won’t go so far as to say that I’m that biased toward a fellow fan of Al Green, but I do love some Al Green. Honestly, who doesn’t love Al Green?

President Obama, delivering a speech at a NY fundraiser, learned that Al Green was in the crowd. He turned attention to the Memphis legend, aka Reverend Al, and then offered a little “taste” of the soul legend’s repertoire. Considering how nervous singers get when they sing live, I gotta offer the Pres. props.

President Obama launched into the beginning of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together,” to an uproarious response from the friendly crowd. I have no doubt that Republicans will offer their own twisted spin: That’s exactly what Obama is…a well spoken entertainer. Not a capable President. Yep, I can hear that nonsensical rhetoric now. Regardless, these are the things that spread like wildfire. These are the things that make President Obama more like the everyday guy, gal, man and/or woman than the rest of the political crowd. Oh, how I hope it comes down to Obama and Paul. That would be a most excellent race.

In the meantime, enjoy the President’s short, yet capable vocal stylings.
