Moonrise Kingdom. Know the name, as it’ll be on the lips of every photographer, hipster, and filmmaker who enjoys the work of Wes Anderson.
Additionally, it looks like it’s the Wes Andersonieset Wes Anderson offering since the last one, where Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson were caught on a train…I don’t know. I didn’t see it. If I had the option, I’d watch every Wes Anderson movie on mute and just look at the art direction and cinematography. He has apparently embraced this proposition as well, making his new movie the prettiest and yellowiest offering he could possibly make it – infused with stars such as Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, and Jason Schwartzman. How lucky for Schwartzman, that his family keeps doing movies that he winds up in.
There’s not much you can say about the preview, except two 12-year-olds seem to fall in love with each other and there’s Bill Murray. Being Bill Murray. An occupation which I hope he never tires of – we could all use some more Murray.
If you know someone who wants to attain unspeakable levels of whimsy, or enjoys photographing people in said levels of unspeakable whimsy, I’m sure they’re going to be in heaven watching this.
It’s the first Wes Anderson effort since the wonderfully creepy ‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox‘.
