This is an excellent match.
I have no doubt that Jeff Fisher opted for the Rams over the Dolphins for two reasons: Steven Jackson and Sam Bradford. And get ready to add another stallion to the mix. The Rams will be going after Justin Blackmon in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft, and will bolster their offensive line moving forward in the following rounds.
Fisher’s persona is perfect for St. Louis. The dome that used to host the Greatest Show on Turf, may start rocking again in the fall of 2012. Not rocking and rolling, per se…but rocking in a manner which is reminiscent of someone dozing off in a rocking chair, then waking up to get the rock going again.
Fisher is already close to success in St. Louis. The team is ripe. The defense is formidable, and the offense? Well, if they can sustain a few drives–which will begin by protecting Sam Bradford–it’s on in the Gateway city.
Why not Miami? Too many questions in Miami. Reggie Bush is most certainly beginning to run like the back that we all anticipated him to be…
For the record, I always said he could go for 100+ a game in New Orleans, or wherever he was put on the field. You can’t offer a guy with that ability a mere 8 touches a game and expect him to rush or receive for more than 35 yards. Yet he still did… Give him 18-20 carries and a total of 25-28 touches and he’ll do what he did during the last 6 weeks of the season. Love ya, Reg.
…but there are too many questions surrounding the rest of the team. They are clearly rebuilding. Is Matt Moore the guy to lead the franchise to the playoffs? He certainly could be, but clearly Jeff Fisher doesn’t want to be the one to deal with the distinct possibility that he may not.
One more piece added to the 2012 football puzzle.
